Flight listing policy and procedures

  • ID passengers except as positive passengers shall be listed for a flight on standby basis only.  Passengers are recommended to contact the local Ethiopian’s office at the boarding point in advance and have their names listed. For our Worldwide Ethiopian Call center visit our web site http://www.ethiopianairlines.com/en/info/callcenter.aspx    They shall list themselves at least prior to 48 hrs before the estimated time of departure (STD) of the flight Some countries require Advance Passenger Information (API). Hence Passport number, Passport issuing country and date, Expiry date, Nationality and Date of Birth (DOB) shall be included in the listing. The listing should at all times indicate name as on ticket, ticket classification or pass type and seniority date.

Visas and Passports and API

  • ID passengers shall be responsible for securing Staff ID, Passport, visas, health and other travel documents necessary for all portion of the trip. ET accepts no responsibility for missing or invalid documents. Fines imposed to ET, resulting from non-compliance with official requirements, will be borne by the traveler

Baggage

Checked baggage

  • Baggage allowance:  Excess baggage is not subject to any concession. The excess baggage rule of revenue passengers shall apply  For passengers traveling on space available basis, baggage shall be tagged only to his/her first point of destination.

Cabin baggage

  • Same hand baggage allowance of revenue passenger applies. (2pcs with a maximum weight of 8kgs each in C-9 and 1pc with a maxim weight of 7kgs in economy class , maximum dimensions 23X40X55cm)

Check-in

  • ID passengers must check-in in accordance with established check-in procedure, and present company identification at time of check-in.

Check-in times

  • Space available passengers are required to check-in at least 60 minutes in advance of departure.

Through check-in

  • For passengers traveling on space available basis, check-in shall be done only to his/her first point of destination. Through check –in  facility is not available .

Dress code

  • ID passengers must at all times show good conduct and behavior They should observe and respect the following dress code when traveling in C-9: Male passengers age 16 and above: Jacket, Trousers with a shirt, tie and dress shoes. Female passengers age 16 and above: Dress, suit, pant suit, coordinated blouse/shirt or sweater/shirt combination and dress shoes. Children under 16 shall be neatly attired in clothing suitable for travel. Supervisory personnel at the airport may refuse passage to anyone whose dress or behavior might be objectionable to other passengers. ID passengers must maintain good appearance and dress properly and neatly at all times while traveling on Ethiopian
